On Sale: Swim Trunks!

No, that isn't a sales rack at Old Navy. Those are all the swim trunks I've pulled out of Daniel's drawer. This is the luck of being the youngest of three boys, you get stuff passed down to you. That's 7 pairs of swim trunks in that pic and I'm sure we are missing at least two more pairs that are in the laundry. Anyone need size 6 swim trunks???

No Haircut Update

Refer to No Haircut entry to be clued in on this update.
A little scruffier than I like, but I'm still ok...Daniel does the thing with his hand to gauge the need for a haircut, lol, he says he's good.

The Case of the Missing MP3 Player

Neil has been missing his MP3 player for a couple months now. Kevin was still home when we discovered it was gone. We had begun to wonder if he didn't take it to school and maybe it was lost or stolen. So many tears, oceans of them as he swore and swore it was somewhere in the house. We have torn this house apart and finally just gave up on it. Things have gone missing in the past, glasses, toys, homework (haha), never to be seen again.

Well about 20 minutes ago I heard a bustling of excitement from upstairs and silly little boy giggling! The mystery is solved!!! The MP3 play has been found!

Neil found it where he keeps his most prized possessions, because it's in a black case and was in the dark corner of his shelf, he repeatedly overlooked it. So all the arguing and chastizing of putting it where it's supposed to be and all that other nonsense we rambled at him, was unfounded.

Mystery solved!

New Shoes and Misc Pics

Kevin hadn't even been in Iraq 48 hours when someone decided to stalk him to the showers and steal his running shoes. This bothers me on two levels: 1 - why would you wanna steal someone else's funky shoes?!? Especially shoes someone has been sweating in, like seriously folks it averaged 125 degrees..ewwwwwww! (yes, sadly I know some people don't care, like the thief who stole the shoes!) 2 - if Soldiers are gonna steal your shoes, do you want them watching your back? Maybe it was one of the guys leaving who spent all his cash at the PX buying nonsense items that they carry there like a new flat screen or iPod and he couldn't afford new shoes to run home in. Whatever the reason is and whomever it was, hope they are enjoying them!

I ordered Kevin a new pair and he was quite happy. Looking at the pic and seeing how nice they look, I'm thinking I should have sent him a Walmart pair to use as a decoy...just in case the shoe thief is still among them!
For some reason Kevin always takes a pic of his shadow..not sure what the fascination is with that.

And I just love this pic..isn't he just the cutest with the best smile!!
I'm pretending that he's laughing with that silly look because someone tried to tell them their wife was the best thing ever and his response was, "don't be foolish, my wife is the bomb diggity!"

Great Wolf Lodge

We got in last night from a wonderful trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, TX. It's a hotel with an indoor waterpark. We had a BLAST! Thanks so much to our friends P and L for inviting us along. We got to stay in a great room. It was a Kid Cabin Suite which meant it had a little log cabin in the room with three beds. It was so cute! The kids thought that was really neat. We hit the waterpark soon after checking in and had so much fun. They had really great slides and the best wave pool that the kids never wanted to get out of. The lines were not long at all and the atmosphere was just really family friendly. Michael and Neil braved a couple slides, it took some coaxing at first but once they did it, they wanted more and more! Some of those slides were soooooooo fast. You know it's fast when it gives you a swimsuit wedgie, lol. Daniel chose to stick to the wave pool but he was quite brave, swimming out to the 5 ft area and holding his own. He was just so cute hanging out there. He did go down one of the outdoor slides and had fun with it but one was his limit. He liked it when the wolf howled and the waves came out or if he was outside the little mountain would spray down. I think us adults were wore out before they were, they kept going and going. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, it was one of the best buffets I've ever eaten at. Daniel was quite impressed that he could have cereal for dinner. They had a Kid Island that was filled with all kid friendly food. They had little cereal machines and Daniel loaded up. Michael was amazed at how good the cheese pizza was, he had 3 pieces and kept saying over and over, this is soooooooo good. Neil's favorite was the egg rolls, I think he ate 5 or 6. We really got our money's worth, we waddled our way back to the room.
If you're looking for something fun to do and don't want to drive too far and don't want to be overwhelmed with crowds, check out Great Wolf Lodge, it's howling fun!!!

Thanks to D and the kids for watching Sapper...we had no worries knowing she was being spoiled...I mean watched over by you guys!

Didn't get my normal amount of pics as the area was nothing but water and didn't want to damage the cam. But we got a few! Enjoy!

No Haircuts...

The boys have decided that they do not want haircuts. Being around the Army for the past 15 years of my life, nice and cleancut = high fades for me. The boys have always had military haircuts since first snip of the scissors. When it starts to get too long it drives me crazy and I take them in for a cut. They have informed me they want their hair to grow out and I have decided to TRY and let them do that. I will tell you it is so hard. Since they had their hair cut so short, it kind of grows awkward and goes to a stage that reminds me of a koosh ball. They look so shaggy and unkept it gives me anxiety, but I am TRYING.

We'll see how long it goes before I can't take it anymore. We are at a month...any bets on how much longer I last??

Old Spice

Just a random funny...

I get all our company's newsletters from each platoon and then I go put them up on our vFRG site. So my husband and his Soldiers wrote up their intro newsletter for last week. They think they are pretty witty..

This is how they concluded their article..

PSD Newsletter is brought to you by Old Spice.

Old Spice, just because you're a Soldier doesn't mean you need to smell like one.

I just thought it was silly, lol

Six Weeks Down...

My Donut of Misery says we are 9% done and we have a "long, long way to go". I think we've hit that transition phase, the numbness is wearing off and we might be settling into a routine of sorts. Maybe...probably not. You think you are good not hearing from your Soldier and then you get spoiled by receiving a call two days in a row or an email two days in a row. And then...nothing. You know better and know that's how it rolls but you still find yourself upset about it. And for me, I then get upset about being upset because in my mind "I know better".
Perhaps the fact that no matter what, I wake up at 0545 every single day doesn't help. Maybe the lack of sleep is wearing on me and making me feel vulnerable and emotional. It may be contributing to my scattered brain as well. I am usually pretty on top of things and lately I forget things. I don't want to blame it on the deployment though many kind people have offered it to me as an out. I think that is phasing itself out as well. Perhaps "normal" will appear soon!!
Oh and I'm very proud of myself, I went and walked this morning. It was slow moving at first, the setting was just right to kind of wander and reflect and then I realized that people were kind of staring at me, lol. I was kind of walking at a slow pace while thinking and I'm sure they wondered why I was on the track if I wasn't actually going to try and get my heart rate up, LOL. Just for good measure I jogged the last mile.
So six weeks down and way too many to mention at this point to go!!!

RaNdOm FrIdAy ThOuGhTs

Just a few random thoughts for today...

Visiting Teaching
I had a great time visiting teaching this morning. I'm so grateful for the visiting teaching program in our church. I love getting to know new people. It was a great way to start the day.

Missed Phone Calls
Going out to my truck after my visit, I noticed I missed a call from Kevin. Though disheartening, I was grateful for it because he left a voicemail which means I can replay it anytime I want to hear his voice!

Email and digital photographs
Upon returning home, I had an email from "My Love" (as that is how he is entered in my address book). In it was two pics...yay!!! They are from his promotion and I am so happy to see him. The first one he looks so serious and the second he is happy being silly with one of his Soldiers.

AFTB Classes
I got to teach an AFTB class to a group of Soldiers at our Reception Battalion here at Fort Hood. I loved it! They were all so great, it was such a fun atmosphere to teach in. Reminds me why I love doing this!

Friendship
I signed online and saw that a buddy of ours was signed in. He is currently deployed to Kuwait and we had a great chat. It was nice to be able to have such a versatile conversation with him. We've been friends over 9 years and it's nice to know when someone asks a question they want the honest answer. We had some laughs and I admit I shed some tears as he asked me some tough questions. Be safe "M", we miss you and love you...God Bless

Until Next Time...

Army Dress Up

Having boys play dress up is not a past time in our home. But being the crazy Army family that we are, my kids LOVE the dress up area at the 4th Infantry Division Museum. It doesn't matter how many times we've been there, everytime we go, they have to dress up. I love it, you know..Kodak moments and all, lol.

We met up with a new friend and had fun at the museum...below are the results of our fun visit to the museum.

R & M...aren't they too cute?!?!
Miss Daaaaaaaaa...lol

Is this a picture of the future??

Nay and my new buddy Michelle...all the way from Hawaii..look forward to meeting up with you in Austin before you head back!!

Lucky Girl, I Am

Have I mentioned lately, what a lucky girl I am? Why am I lucky? Because I married the sweetest man ever. He sent me the nicest letter today.

Please notice the flower taped to the bottom of the letter...I'm going to type what is written in his note..it's a nice reminder to us all...

"Hello my Love,

Just a note to say I am always thinking of you and how very beautiful you are. I miss you so very much.

I saw the flower on the way to chow and noticed that all the bud's were closed but by the time I came back all of them were open. They were really nice among all the sand and rocks. There is always beauty where you least expect it.

I love you so much,

Love Kev"

Babysitter for Hire!

Today Michael completed the American Red Cross Babysitter's Course. Woohoo!! We are very proud of him. He said he learned a lot and had a good time. So he's set to babysit...his card he made in the class says $5 per child an hour, lol. You might be able to negotiate though. He is also CPR and First Aid certified (maybe that's why he's so expensive, lol).

In all seriousness, I am very proud of him. In my very biased opinion, he is good with kids and very responsible. We'll see how much this overprotective mama let's him put his training to use, lol.

More Water Fun for Us

Yesterday we went to the pool for some more water fun. We had a blast! We had the whole pool pretty much to ourselves. The kids spent a lot of time on the little slide they had there that shot them out like cannons. Well Michael and Neil did, Daniel didn't venture too far from the wall, lol. All the boys are pretty comfortable in the water but Daniel doesn't get too brave. I've offered swimming lessons to him but he says no, so we'll see.

The 2008 Army Soldier Show

Every year, we have a tradition. We attend the Soldier Show. It's a night where many of our own Soldiers get to share their talent. They travel around the world and perform for their own communities. It's always amazing to see them perform. I'm always moved to tears when they do the patriotic songs. Tonight was no exception. I can't even put into words the pride I have in my heart everytime I attend this event. Kevin of course misses a lot of these because he's rarely home and that just intensifies the feelings. After the show, we get to go through the receiving line and shake hands with the Soldiers. It's always nice to see them lined up in uniform. They are all so humble. Tonight was no exception, they talked to the boys, high-fived them and signed their programs. Daniel was so cute as he went through the line and told each of them that they did such a good job.

I chuckled when I remembered that Daniel was merely 3 weeks ago when he attended his first Soldier Show and he has gone every year since, no matter where we have been stationed.

If you live in an area that they perform, be sure to go, you won't be disappointed!

The Salado Wading Hole

I'm sure there is a more official name to this place, but we call it the wading hole. We have a lot of fun there. I enjoy taking the kids there because it's fun and relaxing. It's such a peaceful little place and the kids can get wet and just play. They would stay there for hours if I let them. We invited our friends to go with us Friday. I think they had fun. It was fun watching the kids, it was so relaxing, you almost forget about everything else going on around you. I love watching my kids just enjoying nature and being free. I loved how Michael helped E and T through the water, it gave me such joy to see him helping them in such a simple manner. It was a reminder to me how we are supposed to help and serve others. On the other hand, he tried to help me drown I think, lol. Not really, but he wanted to see how deep a certain area was and if you all know that sometimes depth can not be easily identified with water, he thought maybe he wasn't tall enough. *For all you funny people, I am still taller than my 12 year old son (at least for now, lol). So I go in, not intending to take a swim and well, it was pretty deep, I don't know how deep because I never felt the bottom, I just proceeded to get completely wet and everyone else got a good chuckle. Overall it was a fabulous day of fun. We enjoyed an ice cream treat afterwords and I think everyone got some good sleep that night! The slideshow below is a sampling of the fun...I took so many pics I uploaded to my FOTKI site and if you want to see more, feel free to go there and check them out.

Great Pics You Sent Baby

I've been reminiscing about our last deployment and going through emails between Kevin and I. I found this one that cracked me up. Let me set it up. Kevin had been gone about 2 1/2 months and I had not yet received any real pics of him. Occasionally I'd get a pic but it usually of someone else. I was getting frustrated and he assured me that I was getting a box with two disposable cameras and on those cameras were TONS of pics of him...well in the slide below you will see what I got and then following that is the email I sent him in response to those pics!

Hi Baby,

You have no idea how excited I was to see your boxes in our mailbox. I had to drive to Waco so couldn't get to Walmart in time to do 1 hr last night so after Cub Scouts and Chess, I went to the Walmart in Killeen (you know I had to be excited to go to that madhouse place I hate so much). Oh I was so excited, the hour couldn't pass fast enough. I nearly snatched the pictures out the ladies hands and immediately started looking through pics...I was so excited for Lanita, Tabitha and Lynn since there were pictures of their hubbies. Man, how many pics of Merritt does this make? Well Iraqi porta potties don't look much different then ours and that dumpster was pretty cool in the middle of the sand. Have to say desert combat boots look the same in TX as they do in Iraq. Your gear looks great on the hook, bet it looks better on you! I did like the 4 pictures of you, once I figured out it was indeed you after zooming in on your nametape. Well baby, thanks again for the great pics...thought I'd return the favor.
Love,
Nay

Reflections....

I have felt pretty vulnerable the past 24 hours...sometimes it's hard to remember that you're stronger than you think. I was reading through emails from our last deployment and stumbled across this. It helped to rejuvenate me a bit, hopefully I can remember the lessons learned last time.

October 16, 2006
As our deployment is coming to an end in about 5 weeks or so, I've been reflecting on this past year. I look back at it with tears, love and gratitude. It has been a year of trial. But not hardship. I really learned at how much attitude has to do with how hard your trials truly are. We know we are sent down to Earth to be tested. We know there are going to tough times. But with the right attitude and the reliance on the Lord, they don't have to be so hard.

There have been some overwhelming times. I thought my heart would break when I learned our good friends were killed. I still cry almost daily for the loss of these special men. But how grateful am I to know where they are headed after this. So many people were blessed in knowing these soldiers, I know I have been blessed. I think about all the families I have had the opportunity to interact with. Oh what a blessing they have been. On the not so great days, I was uplifted with a simple word of encouragement from a mother or a father. I look forward to meeting them all in person.

I look at my husband and I am so grateful for the 7,348 miles that have brought us closer and stronger in our marriage. I've been asked how I do it, do you miss him, do you miss the intimacy. I am truly grateful for the opportunity that was given us as a couple to learn intimacy on a whole new level. A spiritual intimacy.

I look at my boys and I am so proud of them and how well they have endured this past year. It has been hard on them, but they are so strong. They teach me so much. They pray for their daddy and the other soldiers everyday. They talk with such pride about how their daddy is helping the world. They miss him and as sad as it can be at times, they have a wonderful understanding and testimony of eternal families. They know that even if Heavenly Father decided to take their daddy like He took daddy's friends, that we are an eternal family and it's not a forever goodbye. I know some people don't understand that, but what good is having ordinances if we don't have faith in them? At 10, 8 and 5, my children have that testimony and I find comfort in that.

I look at my lot as an Army Wife as a blessing. We all know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each and every one of us. How grateful am I that His plan for me included marrying a soldier. It's not always an easy life and at times comes with much sacrifice. We are all handed our trials for different reasons and for different life experience. I am thankful that the Lord chose me for this journey. I am proud to be an Army wife. I am proud that my husband serves on a larger scale then that of politics. He is an instrument in serving his Lord in spreading truth. He is a pioneer in Iraq. How often do people get to say their loved one makes a difference in the world each and every day and not just for himself.

I am grateful for all of you. I couldn't have made it this year without all the people the Lord placed in my life. Whether it be in person or online. He knew who I needed to get me through.

My journey is not quite finished, we have a few weeks left and I know there is still much unknown. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but I know today the Lord blessed with many things and for that I am grateful. I wanted to share this all with you and say that I truly do love all of you.

Hugs,
Nadine

The Sexiest ACU Blob

I got to "see" Kevin on a VTC today. He was the sexiest ACU blob ever, lol. I am grateful for his Chain of Command who set it up so we could see him promoted. The picture was very grainy and pixeled, I could recognize Kevin mainly when he smiled cuz he has such a big, cheesy grin and I love it!

I am so proud of you baby. Remember, you had success long before they velcroed that new rank on you. I know you won't forget that it's the man who makes the rank, not the other way around!

And yes, I boohoo'd all the way. Starting at the gate when they wanted to do a random search. I became "that" Army wife who lost all control and cried. I was all embarrassed, hate how those emotions just creep up on you! Thanks to the very gracious gate guard who stopped the search and let me through to see my Soldier.

Think Blues Clues...

Anyone remember Blue Clues and the song they sing when they check Mailbox??

"We just got a letter, we just got a letter, Wonder Who it's FROM!!"

Well we did get letters yesterday, all of us from our beloved Soldier. We were very happy!

A sidenote on the Blues Clues song..when Kevin was a Drill Sergeant he would sing this song during mail call, lol. I'm sure the Privates thought he was a bit nuts..

Anyway, just wanted to share our news!

Why Yes...I am Fat...

Thanks for pointing it out!!

I'm really not self-conscious about my weight, it is what it is. If I had a strong desire to do something about it, I would.

I don't exercise, I don't eat the right foods, I enjoy soda. I acknowledge that I am the reason I'm thick around the middle. No one to blame but myself...if I was looking to blame someone that is.

But here is what gets to me about being fat. The fact that other people need to point it out. In the past few weeks, I've had people ask me if I was pregnant..uhm, no, just fat. "Oh but you're not fat!". Hmmmm, really, then why would you assume I'm pregnant? I had one boy tell me that he had seen lots of pregnant women and I looked just like them...thanks!

I could write in this blog about all the things I'm doing to combat my chubbiness, but really, I'm not about justifying to anyone. I know the reasons I can't drop weight like some people. I know what I need to do to get to a healthy weight.

Why write this blog? To get people to think about the comments they make. I once read a quote and of course I can't remember it verbatim..but it talks about how Charity can be not saying the obvious.

Well, that's my food for thought for the evening..I'm off to have an ice cream sandwich before bed!

Sapper's Play Date

So we've taken Sapper out on a few puppy playdates in the past couple weeks. The first time we took her to meet Xena (I'm assuming that's how you spell her name, lol) Sapper seemed a bit nervous and held back. Such was not the case this last go round, lol. She certainly held her own. It was pretty funny, had to share some video.

Swiffer Duster

So just over a month ago I made a pretty nifty purchase. Nita told me about the Swiffer Duster and she told me how much she really liked hers. When we were at Sam's Club one day, I came across a box and decided to try them out. I love it! But I think Daniel loves it more than I do. I constantly find him with it, dusting here and dusting there (I'm not complaining, dust away little man!). I just find it so funny because I will find him sitting in the armchair, armed with the duster. Or, he will come up to me and ask me if I need anything dusted. The other boys try to make him put it away but he just hangs on to that little yellow handle, he loves that thing! Crazy boy!

Textually Active

The title is so wrong, I know, but I find it funny. So many surveys I have done on MySpace ask the questions like, who was your last text from, who did you last text and others of similiar fashion. I've always had to respond with I don't text or something else, one time someone answered with "I'm not textually active" which I copied and used from then on.

Well, now I can give a real answer because I have crossed over to the dark side...I now have text service on my cell. I am, however, quite special and cannot grasp the texting on a regular phone so I had to ensure I got a phone that came with a keyboard to make my life just a little bit easier. I mean who needs a phone telling them what they are trying to type?!?!

So I am now textually active...

Got Freedom?

I don't care where you are, or what you think is big and spectacular, you can't have 4th of July any better than at a military installation. I had debated about going on post for the Freedom Fest because I get cranky with crowds but I also knew that once it was all said and done I'd be glad I did. Such was the case for today. Would you believe that not even 15 minutes into our day at the "Fest" my camera batteries went dead! Should have done some *PMCS on the cam! Nita and I went on a ride and got a bit dizzy (I'm hoping I'm not getting too old for the fun rides...I'm going to blame it on the fact that the ride went really fast and then slowed down, at least that's what Nita says and I'll go with that!) We wandered around a bit, the boys and I hit each other with some pugil sticks, ok, I admit I had a somewhat unfair advantage over Neil, but hey...he asked for it! The boys also did some rock wall climbing. Neil made it about halfway up, Daniel struggled and pouted that "it was too hard". My wonderful OCD child Michael was bound and determined to get up that wall and he did. When he got to the top, the bell wouldn't ring, wouldn't you know he stayed up there until he got it to! Go Michael! The crowd cheered for him, I'm so proud! You're right Nita, he's not wimpy at all!!

The Army had all their vehicles out to play. I hate to admit sadly, that all the vehicles no longer thrill my children. While they still love Army life, they don't get as excited as they used to. I suppose that's the hazard of being Army Brats and being drug all over to see all the Army toys time and time again! They did get excited, however, at the parachute jump that brought in the American flag. They oohed and aahhed with everyone else! I admit, I got excited too, LOVED it, took me back to Fort Campbell since the jumpers were from the Screaming Eagles Division! One of the jumpers was a Soldier wounded in OIF and lost his leg. That was awesome to see him back on jump status. Of course I get all touched and patriotic anytime the color guard brings in our nation's colors. Tonight was no exception. They not only honored our nation as a whole but each individual state as well and I give total props to the all the members of the color guard for holding strong to those flags as the wind was kicking pretty good!

The music tonight was pretty good, there were moments when I wondered but they redeemed themselves. I have to say that 1st Cavalry Division has some great talent!

The finale of the night, of course, was the fireworks. Getting them started was the Salute Battery firing the cannons, can't get more Army then that...nothing better then the smell of smoke from artillery in your nostrils! The fireworks were AMAZING like always and the music that went with it was fabulous too!

As the fireworks were going off, I was thinking about the celebrations going on all over the nation and wondered how many people were thinking about the troops who had made all that possible, I wondered if for a moment they stopped and thought about the families who were apart, the families broken forever, the servicemembers enduring their own types of "fireworks" in a combat zone, out in the desert of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan. Did they understand, truly, what today really meant? The volunteers who signed the Declaration of Independence to the volunteers today who serve all over the world protecting freedom, how many stopped and thought about what "Independence Day" really means?

What is the price of freedom, do you know?

Got Freedom?

Yes, you do, courtesy of my husband...an American Soldier.

Gratitude Campaign

In honor of Independence Day, I'd like to share with you the Gratitude Campaign in honor of all those who serve and sacrifice for America's Freedom.

Thank you is not enough....

Wii, Purses and a Cell Phone with a Death Wish!

So today has been a productive day...I haven't accomplished anything grand, but things have gotten done.

I started off the day being rather lazy, I actually slept in today! Instead of getting up at 0545, I slept in until 7:15 a.m! That's progress, maybe someday I'll be able to nap!

Well, after bumming around the house for a bit, I made my way to our Rear D...we were lucky enough to hear about a Wii that a Soldier in the unit was selling. He wants a PS3 (is that right, I'm so not a gamer!) Well anyway, we got the game system for a GREAT deal...really, we got extra controllers, extra numchuck (how do you spell that?) Battery charger, control covers and 4 games. Pretty fab if you ask me! Sadly, the boys have not yet earned the right to actually set it up since they are cranky, not so nice little boys lately. They have bickered a lot with each other and have not been doing what I have told them to, so I am going to use the Wii as a bargaining tool..so far it's working great!

Daniel guarding the Wii (probably hoping that I'd feel pity and set it up..but I am Mean Mom, hear me Rooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrr, lol)

Next topic...Purses!

I got myself a new purse and I LOVE it!!! I had it made by a local Army wife whom I told what I wanted and she created!!! I am so excited, I love the design and the fabric. The purse is actually made out of Kevin's ACU top, a lot of people get theirs made out of ACU fabric but I wanted to have something a bit more personal. The inside is patriotic (I strayed from the black, lol). I love it because it's newspaper clippings from WWII...LOVE that!
Anyway, she did a great job, and I am quite happy..check out her site HERE if you want to know more!

And the last topic for tonight...my cell phone! Well I got a new one. A Sidekick, so I can text easier (yes, I'm special and can't text on a regular phone) Well I just got it today in the mail and I made the mistake of putting the back on before inserting the sim card. Well, now I can't the dang back off! It's mocking me, I just know it...I want to throw it on the ground and stomp it (I won't because that would be a costly temper tantrum!) Grrrrrrr, so if anyone has pity on me and wants to help me out..feel free to do so! Yes, I am pathetic but I get some points back for admitting it for all those who read this blog to see!

Oh...I have to add a random thought or two..so as I was walking back from the "Zoo" house, I was annoyed that I had to walk around someone's trash can that was set on the sidewalk! Come on people...put it on the street like you're supposed to! The same people also parked their car on part of the sidewalk...I wanted to kick their trash can over...but I was a good girl and did not, I just complained about it and now wrote about it.

Ok, that's it for now! Until next time!

1%

Actually the title should be less than 1%...less than 1% of the U.S. population serves in the military. I just found that fact interesting and wanted to share that. A small number protecting our nation, what a burden to bear...even more interesting is that they VOLUNTEER to do so, we are an all VOLUNTEER force.

Another interesting fact, 1 in every 10 Soldiers in the Army serves at Fort Hood, TX.

Just thought I'd share those facts with you all today.
