Blog Slacker!

Just a warning that I will be updating the blog with all the blog entries that have been sitting in draft mode since about March!

The best part of this entry is that we have 6% of this separation left!  To say our family is excited would be a huge understatement.  We are so ready to be together again!

Prepare yourself for Albrecht Squad overload!

Featured MilSpouse Blogger: Forget the Dog Not the Baby

I am going to start a new feature on my blog to bring awareness throughout our Military Spouse Blogging community. Once a week I will feature another Military Spouses Blog and I hope you'll go and visit them.

I have actually been reading Kristle's blog for a while (not sure she knows that...I might be a blog stalker, haha). What I enjoy about Kristle is that she is honest and funny. I hope you'll stop by and visit her blog.

Once Upon a Time there was a Soldier, and his Princess. They had plans to live Happily Ever After, until one day the Soldier was called to war. The Princess waited day and night for his return, and when the day finally arrived, she had no idea what was in store for her. Turns out the Big Bad TBI Monster had put a spell on the Soldier, and destined him to a lifetime of cognitive impairments. Follow the Princess and her Soldier as they show The Big Bad TBI Monster that he will NEVER win!

Military Girls Interview

I recently had the opportunity to be "interviewed" by a wonderful blogger out of Australia who is doing a series about female Military Servicemembers and Military Spouses. When I saw her request to find those interested in interviewing on one of the websites I follow, I figured why not? She asked wonderful questions and I got to answer honestly, what better combination is that? I obviously can't speak for all female Veterans or Military Spouses but I can certainly share my insights and feelings but I hope that it gives a little bit of insight on my life as a Military Spouse. I think she did a wonderful job and I was glad to be a part of it.

If you want to check it out, click on the banner below.
I am the second interview so be sure to check out the previous interview, and meet Erika

Blogging Slacker

I have been such a slacker. I got sick and was lazy for a few days. Then I went TDY to Washington DC for the week and got home last night. While I was gone the kids had four snow days from school and the hubby got two days off from work. I have plenty of pics to post and some commentary about my trip to DC. I'll get my blog updated soon!

Awesome Secret Santa Gift

This year I participated in a blogger Secret Santa started by Wife of a Sailor. I got the most awesome gift today from my postman...I absolutely love it! Thank you This Military Mama! I love the framed Service Flag and the basket of Warm Vanilla Sugar goodies! It is one of my favorite scents from Bath & Body Works! Thanks so much!

Total Blog Slacker!

Wow...I have been such a blog slacker. Both in writing and in reading. Since coming back from vacation I have been crazy busy! The main organization that I volunteer for has been so busy. Our Army Family Team Building program here is far busier than I ever imaged it to be. I mean I came from the largest Army post in the free world, shouldn't we be busier there?

But like I said, things have been hectic. Plus I have three boys I am getting ready to go back to school (and I'm so sad about that, I love my boys). Kevin is headed off again for another adventure in the Army. BTW, thanks Army for taking him away for yet another first day of school, my boys really appreciate that!

Being so busy with volunteer work I contemplated going back to work full time. I have a good resume built and enough reference letters that I really feel that I could get a good job. Kevin and I talked about it and decided we should pray on it. Then we thought we should ask the boys and they all said NO...they are not ready for me to go back to work. They want me to be home when they get home. Even with as busy as I have been with volunteering they like the flexibility and they like that I can take them with me a lot of the time. So there was the answer, loud and clear, it's not my time and I'm okay with that.

So again, I'm a blog slacker but I am doing worthwhile things. I am hoping to get on more and blog and also visit people's blogs.

Hershey's Better Basket Blog Hop

My friend Renee tagged me from her blog Life With My Special K's. I don't always do the tagged posts, but I do feel this one is important and easy enough to do...copying and pasting what she had on her blog...(I mean really, she put it so well!)...here's what this is all about!

The Angel Forever has passed onto me a virtual Easter basket. BUT unlike most blog awards and things, this one is for a GREAT cause!!! (In other words, don't stop reading! LOL)

So what IS the Hershey's Better Basket Blog Hop?! I'm so glad you asked!! If you have a blog, you can help raise money for a GREAT cause!!! Hershey is donating up to $5,000 to the Children's Miracle Network with this promotion – $10 for every blog that participates in the Better Basket Blog Hop. The post that you are reading right now is another $10 that will be given to children’s hospitals all over North America. An additional $5,000 to this charity would be the world of difference to many sick children.

SO this post right here is another $10! YAY! And now, I get to pass my virtual basket along to some of you... who hopefully will pass it along to others... who hopefully will pass it along to more people! Let's get Hershey to their $5,000 goal!

In my basket I would put in Peeps because I LOVE Peeps and not those sugar-free traitor ones either (I mean really, who thought THAT up?!?) I would have a Chocolate Bunny, everyone needs a Chocolate bunny and probably some of those little egg gumballs that come in the mini cartons (I think I just buy those because they are cute!)

Now..I'm going to tag EVERYONE who has read this post. You can do it...come on, help us out. Leave us a comment so we can visit your amazing blogs to read this entry and all your others!

Have a blessed day and thank you for blessings others!

Highest Referrals for Our Blog

So today I get my tracking report for our blog, it was interesting to say the least. I get a lot of referrals from my blogging buddies (thanks guys!).

The highest search words are deployment (shocking!) and our own blog name "The Albrecht Squad". Almost daily someone is searching for the Albrecht Squad via a search engine known as sweetim. Almost every other day on that search to find our blog they spell our last name wrong, lol.

Recently someone searched for a Silly Santa and it took them to our post about Kevin dressing up as Santa last year...I loved it, that video of Kev laughing still cracks me up.

Our tracker gives us IP addresses and locations so trust me when I say I know who is reading our blog and how they are getting to our blog. It's always fun to read and see how people find our blog and where they are from. I hope they get something out of reading our crazy adventures!

I would like to know who it is in France that is reading our blog, so leave me a shout out and let me know!!
