Leaving the Kids Part II

You may read the title of this post and think...Part 2? Where is Part 1? Well Part I is actually from over 2 years ago. You can check it out HERE. In April 2008, I left my family for a week and went off to Florida. Doesn't that sound dreamy? It wasn't really, we were kept fairly busy during the AFTB training I attended so we didn't have a lot of time for relaxing by the pool or exploring Disney World.

Well they have revamped the program a bit and now I'm going back for more training. Can I just throw in here how cool it is that I am a volunteer and the Army is paying to send me to training? Yup, pretty cool!

So I'm headed out this weekend and I gotta say I've been so busy leading up to it that I haven't had time to really think about it but now it's all starting to hit me. I don't leave my kids. They go off and do their things and leave me. Kevin leaves me, but I do not leave my kids very often. Maybe a day or two...an overnight trip but that is it and I'm usually not far enough away to travel by plane.

I'm not worried that Kevin can't take care of them or that their needs won't be met. I'm fortunate to have an amazing partner who takes care of our kids so well and also doesn't mind doing any of the domestic tasks. (I mean if I were to be totally honest here, I'd have to admit that Kevin is far more domestic than I will ever be...seriously..he does a lot of housework and I'm the slacker).

But anyway..I'm leaving on a jet plane...thankfully I know that I'll be back again...

I should probably start packing...

Yay for Army trips for us volunteers. I hope you have a fabulous time while you're gone. Thank you for what you do. Volunteers should get more than they do so I'm giving you my version of an appreciation :)

Hey, I found you through MilSpouse Friday Fill-In and I think we're stationed at the same post (based on the pictures of your son)!
