Daniel and Politics

Today we watched the inauguration on TV. I didn't interject any comments. I wanted the boys to watch and respect the process and form their own thoughts. When I did ask their thoughts about what they heard, they each had interesting opinions. Neil wanted to hear more about what was going to happen with our military. Michael was wondering what was up with the benediction, he said it wasn't like any prayer he had ever heard. When I went to check on Michael's Beanie Baby exhibit, this is what I found on Neil and Daniel's door. Apparently this is Daniel's thought on today's events.

I just have to say that I will be putting my trust in Obama's promise about our schools and not leaving anyone behind. Daniel obviously needs to work on his spelling.

In all seriousness, it's time for change and today was historical in it's own right. I didn't vote for Obama but I can respect his position and pray for him and the hope he promises to bring.

I feel the same about Obama. I didn't vote for him either, but as I was telling aaron last night. He is who our country elected, and I am hopeful and prayerful that he will be able to make some great changes.

You are so cool. Really. I like that you didn't try to influence what your kids thought during this day. I didn't vote for Obama ether, but I agree with you about respecting the process. I hope he makes positive changes like he says he will. If I don't like the outcome then I know what to do in four years; make sure MY guy (or girl) wins the next election!

Also, we appreciate the sacrifices your whole family make for our country. You are amazing! Seriously.

I soooo totally love the sign. How cool are your kids :)!!! And How cool are you. I know so many people who didn't vote for Obama and don't want to give him the chance. It's sad. (Oh I didn't vote for him either but I do respect his postition and I'm praying for the best).

I didn't vote for President Obama, but respect him as our Commander in Chief. It is with like most anything;some opinions you will agree on, and others you will not, but you will probably never find another person that you agree COMPLETELY about EVERYTHING on.

That totally rocks that he just put that sign out on his own. I love that he stands by his opinion!
