I Am Thankful For...#4

I am thankful for the Army. Army life has been good to us. First of all, it brought Kevin and I together. We met in the Army. It has also instilled a sense of pride in me I'm pretty sure I would not otherwise have. I wish I could say it disciplined me more, but really it didn't, if anything it made me more cynical and rebellious.

I love Army life, it suits me well, it has given me opportunities that I would not have otherwise had. I have met some of the most amazing people. I've also met some people I probably could have done without meeting in my life or could I? Every person that I meet does bring something into my life whether it's good or bad. The diversity of those you meet in military life is amazing.

Three of my best friends are people I met as a result of Army life and what would I do without them? I am grateful for the benefits, sometimes they could be better but overall when I reflect on the health issues I've had and my kids have had to deal with, the amount we have to pay (zero) is worth it and honestly we have been blessed with great care.

I am so thankful for the Soldiers and other service members who serve in the other military branches. I am grateful for their sacrifices and their desire to serve. We are an all volunteer military meaning everyone willingly joined and a good majority after 9/11 and after we headed over to Iraq.

I am thankful for my freedom and for those willing to defend it.
