An Awesome Moment for a Female Veteran

Today I had the opportunity to meet someone I really admire. I met General Ann Dunwoody. She is the first female to ever achieve the rank of General (that's four stars folks). She's had an amazing career and she just keeps on going. I was crazy emotional when I met her today...I kept my emotions in check but I could have cried on the spot.

I admit I was totally tacky because I was at a meeting with senior spouses and when she walked in I asked the Commanding General if I could get a pic with General Dunwoody. I even handed him the camera to take the pic, lol.

It was a very neat experience for me, one I'll remember forever.

I think that if anyone that you were surrounded by knows you they wouldn't find it tacky. They would see how much pride you find in the Armed Forced, and especially for a female service member who has achieved such stature despite all of the hardships that she has certainly had to endure through out her career simply due to the fact that she is a female service member. I'm glad that you were able to meet someone that inspires you. That is really neat.
