Ever met those people? No matter what is going on in your life, theirs is worse on so many levels? It makes me crazy! Our deployment is not as hard as others for various reasons (in their opinion) and our separation is minimized by others who are caught up in their own cocoon of misery. I get it, it sucks for you too but why minimize what my boys and I are going through. It certainly isn't the way to get me to feel sorry for you, it just pisses me off.
But it's not just in regards to deployment, it's also in regards to kids and the issues we have to deal with. I've never met so many people who want to one up you on their kids diagnosis of whatever. I want to scream, YOU WIN. This isn't something I want to be the worse at so go on and take the lead on this one. People I don't even know will go on and on about things like this...most of the time I roll my eyes and walk away.
I've learned to not even say much because no one is listening anyway and most of that reason is simply because they are collecting their thoughts and preparing to tell me how much easier I have it then they do.

If it is any consolation to you, I know you have it way harder than I do and I totally admire your (and your family's) strength and commitment. Too bad there have to be people like that in this world. I really just feel sorry for them.
I hear you. I know people like that. Crazy neighbor is one. Like you, I have just stopped saying anything. They aren't listening. Gotta love the deployment martyr's too. I recently heard crazy neighbor telling our other neighbor that she just doesn't understand how hard the deployment is on her because she had to move to a new home by herself. Nevermind the lady she was saying this to is also going through a deployment and dealing with a 2 year old that is having surgery soon for cancer, and a newborn with cerebral palsy. My jaw was just hanging open on that one. I hate when people think everything needs to be a contest of who is the most miserable. Maybe people think life is a snap for you because you are not tragic and dramatic about it, lol.
Ohhhh yeah, they're EVERYWHERE here... gotta love it!
Listen I don't want to hear your sob story about how upset it makes you when people think they have it worse than you. Seriously if you only knew the things I have to go through on a daily basis, if you had ANY idea you wouldn't make comments like this..... Hehehehehehehehehehehe sorry couldn't help myself. People like that suck! That's all I have to say 'bout that. (channeling my inner forrest gump)
