Dinner Time and the Boys

Dinner time is my favorite moment of the day. We have the greatest conversations. The boys are always so animated when they talk about their days. We usually start off with asking them what they had for lunch (most of the time they don't remember). Then it's time for mom to guess what kind of milk each of them had. Neil always cracks me up because he makes us guess. I always tell him chocolate milk and he'll say no and I'll tell him, whatever, you had chocolate milk and then he giggles and says you always KNOW!!!! I always laugh at him because for the past three years he has had chocolate milk at lunch, how hard is it to guess? I love his giggle though. Usually after that come the compliments over the meal. They are always so cute, we can have the simplest of meals and to them it's gourmet and no one cooks better then mom. Michael always has some nonsense to tell us. And that is what it is, most of the time it makes no sense to anyone but him but he continues to tell us the tale. We just all kind of smile and nod our heads having no clue what he is talking about. Daniel is by far the funniest, his conversations usually involve to when he was "little". That cracks me up because he will tell us something that happened and he always starts it of with "remember when I was little and I...". It could be something that happened last week and he still starts off with that. It totally cracks me up. That kid has a great memory (both a good and bad thing).

Dinnertime is hard for me because it's when I miss Kevin the most. I miss looking across the table and winking or seeing him roll his eyes at some silly thing the kids have said.

Oh, and let me tell you how interesting the conversations can go, let me remind you that I live with three boys. Tonight we had cheese that I was slicing throughout the meal. Daniel wanted another slice and Neil says, "hey mom can I cut the cheese?" Immediately after that comment Michael starts cracking up which leads the other two boys to crack up. Shortly after that they are all saying it and giggling and wouldn't you know as Daniel is walking away from the table he "cuts the cheese" sending all of them into a fit of giggles. The joy of having boys!
